Pictures taken today…Opal woke me at some inhumane hour again to go outside, so she thinks she can sleep NOW! So of course, I had to fuss and take pictures. :) I’m evil like that.

Foobar brought this up for me. I almost forgot it, love it, and perfect for about now. :)

Two of my roses from five of my rose bushes.

My favorite rose bush out of the five I had. (Four of them, I picked out myself.) This was Sheila’s Perfume I believe. Smelled like citrus. Heaven!

My grandpa and me. I’m not sure how old I was. I was the first grandchild, and that, among other things made me special to my grandparents. He just passed over yesterday, after really fighting and suffering the last few months with cancers that were taking over his body. He’s a fighter, though! Lived with the first one almost 9 years. He was born prematurely and only about 2 lbs in 1927, and they put him in a shoebox and set him on the oven door to keep his little body warm. His last night was made much more comfortable for him after they let grandma get in bed with him. His breathing eased up, and he slept comfortably. He had been on 3 pain meds, 1 or 2 IVs, and a patch. When he woke the next day he had a pulse of 32, temp 103.? and no BP. I’d gotten to visit them many times in the last 2 months and I am glad for that. I’m also glad I got to have my talk with him last week, when he was still able to communicate with me. Seeing him Saturday and Sunday was easily the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I’m glad he’s made it safely to the other side and is no longer in pain. But I do miss him greatly, but only his body, because I know his spirit is alive and well and will look in on us all throughout the rest of our lives. I was so privileged to have known him for so many years. I also gave him a homework assignment to be worked on after he was safely on the other side. I hope he’s enjoying Italy, Milan, and Rome with two of his daughters this week though, relaxing. There will be time for that assignment later. Next week we have the viewing, funeral, and burial Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It’s going to be a tough week, but not nearly as tough as it was seeing him wither away. They need to find a CURE for CANCER because I never want to have to go through that with a loved one again!!! I love you grandpa. I will see you again. <3
